When it comes to my Fall wardrobe I tend to go a little overboard, since Fall is my absolute favorite season. If you’re following me on Instagram I’m sure you’ve noticed. 🙂

Since the weather has been a little cray cray temperature wise, it’s always a good idea to dress in layers. Honestly I feel like an onion in Fall and Winter, putting one layer over another. But hey, just trying to stay warm. I’m wearing a white shirt dress from ASOS and to stay a little warmer I added an oversized comfy sweater in a rose beige color from H&M. Overknee boots are an absolute must for me in Fall and Winter, they are THE statement piece during the colder months. To make this look a little more Winter appropriate, simply add a camel coat 🙂

Can you believe Thanksgiving is already this week? I know me too! But that also means Black Friday is suuuper close, the biggest sales event of the year! Because of my busy and hectic schedule, I prefer ordering everything online, and most stores have Black Friday deals going on all week. And let’s not forget about Cyber Monday 😉

I just finished my second round of midterms last week, and now the semester is running towards the finish line. I have to say, I’m having mixed feelings about Fall almost being over, but I am super excited about the holiday season since I’ll be going home (Hamburg, Germany) for Christmas. Ruffles, suede and booties. Those are definitely some of my favorite to-go pieces for Fall. When H&M released their Fall collection about 2 weeks ago I went a little over board, because all their pieces are so beautiful! Fall is just my absolute favorite season. And since I’m very busy with college and work, I ordered everything online (my dear post man & neighbors please accept my apology for all the packages 😀 ) While I was walking through Manhattan I got so many compliments on this blouse, and I actually ordered this blouse in all three available colors. Hey, when you really love something get it in all different colors! This faux suede powder pink skirt is also one of my absolute favorite pieces from the new H&M collection, very trendy, feminine and so so soft.

These pictures were taken with my dear friend from Germany who was visiting with her boyfriend. I haven’t seen her in 7 years (man time flies!) and it was great to spend the day at Bryant Park and walking around the city with her. And thank you Paula for these beautiful pictures 🙂

Rain definitely makes the decision of what to wear a little harder, especially because you don’t want to ruin your suede boots or bags, that would be tragic. So the rain definitely played a big role for me in deciding what to wear for Fashion Week. As you know, I’m currently absolutely obsessed with plaid, and this plaid blouse I actually got in the Spring from ShopTobi, and it’s my favorite plaid clothing piece I own at the moment. The wrapping detail gives the look a very feminine touch. To add some color to this look I chose the rusty red pleated skirt I got at H&M in the Spring. I actually found a similar one and linked it for you guys in burgundy. To keep the French girl look going I added a beret to finish off the look. Très Parisienne, don’t you think? On a side-note, I am actually German and French 😉

Every year I look forward to New York Fashion Week in September and February. This year was actually my 4th season attending Custo Barcelona’s show and I couldn’t be more grateful. Every year I fall in love with his designs. Read the full post about his show (here).

I absolutely love statement shirts, and this one I actually designed myself on vistaprint.com . There is no better occasion to wear this shirt to than Fashion Week, don’t you think? 😉 The skirt I actually got last year at Bloomingdales (during the time I worked there) and I was saving it for a special occasion I knew would come eventually. Metallics is one of the trends I love for summer but also Fall. And after watching Custo Barcelona’s show and seeing all the beautiful metallic finishes on his designs, we know this trend isn’t going anywhere any time soon. To add more detail to this look I added a small black waist belt with a gold buckle which matched the skirt perfectly. As a finishing touch I chose to wear sneakers which makes the look a little more edgy and sporty (plus super comfortable for running around the city all day!). While I usually go for a more feminine, trendy and playful look, I love mixing and combining different styles.

Today exactly eight years ago I got on the plane in Hamburg, Germany to fly to JFK, NYC. The plan was to stay for only one year, to learn the language better, to experience the American culture, and to explore the paths of Carrie Bradshaw and Serena van der Woodsen. What I didn’t know when I got on the plane eight years ago, was that I would end up living here and build my entire life in the States.

There is this quote that I stumbled upon this week “New Yorkers are born all over the world, and then they come to New York City and it hits them: Oh that’s who I am.” When I left the airport and saw the tall buildings, all the lights, the masses of people, everyone unique in their own way, I knew that this was the place where I belonged.

My road to permanently living here was definitely not easy, I had so many obstacles in my way and I was so close to throwing the towel and going back home to Hamburg, Germany. BUT because I have the best and most supportive parents and brother ever in Germany, I stayed. I know that sounds backwards, but they encouraged me to keep fighting for my dreams when I felt like giving up. They have always been there for me, and thank goodness to today’s technology What’s App and Skype in particular, I’m able to stay in touch with them all the time. I’m also so grateful for my friends in Germany and all the wonderful friends I’ve made in the states, that have become my family here. I’m so thankful to have such a great support system! I am very excited to see what my future has in store, if it’s living another eight years in the states or if it’s traveling the world, or moving to Paris. Who knows, anything is possible!

My message to you is that sometimes you just have to hold your breath and jump, take the leap. Yes, it will not be easy leaving your family and friends, and going WAY out of your comfort zone can be terrifying, but the best life is lived outside of your comfort zone. Keep on pushing. Take the leap. Learn a new language. Experience a new culture. Travel. Meet new people. Fall in love. All these experiences will shape the strong person you are meant to become. I am so grateful for all the experiences over the past eight years, good and bad, because I learned so much about myself and about how strong I really am. The best life is lived outside of your comfort zone! Take a leap!

Happy Monday my darlings, I hope you have a good start into a new week. So, I’m a big denim fan, I love wearing jeans especially in Fall, Winter and Spring (if it’s not too hot!). I usually wear only dark blue Levis Jeans, they are always my go to. I think they match anything and look so elegant (my favorite Levis in this post here). Occasionally I also wear white denim pants (here). Very recently, actually right before my Hawai’i trip (here) I felt very adventurous and I bought myself my very first denim jacket, in white denim. Hey it’s a start 😀 I think the last time I wore a denim skirt was when I was in High School, and that was a while ago. When I saw this denim skirt at H&M, I decided to give denim skirts a second chance and I had to get it. I absolutely love the buttons on this skirt! Also currently I have an obsession with off-the-shoulder dresses and tops. I used to absolutely hate them, but I finally found a strapless bra at Victorias Secret (here) that works wonders! This bra from Intimissimi (here) also looks like it can do wonders. If you’re ordering online, I suggest to go a size smaller than your regular T-Shirt bra to make sure it holds everything in place 😉

About these cute blush pink mules, if you follow me on Instagram (here) then you probably know the story behind these cute shoes! My dear friend and I were taking pictures and I loved her shoes so much (I mean how can you not) and I asked if I could borrow the shoes for the pictures 😀 BTW her feet are one and a half shoe size smaller than mine, but they were so cute so I squeezed myself into them for a few minutes. And I obviously had to make it look like that they fit perfectly! Haven’t we all done something crazy for a picture at least once? Who is with me? 😀

Ich wünsche euch einen frohen Montag meine Lieben, und einen guten Start in eine neue Woche.. Also, Ich bin eine begeisterte Denim Fanatikerin, und ich liebe Jeans Hosen vor allem im Herbst, Winter und Frühling (wenn es nicht zu heiss ist!) zu tragen. Meistens trage ich gerne nur dunkel blaue Levis Jeans, die sind immer mein go-to. Ich finde dass die zu fast allem passen, und dass sie gleich viel eleganter aussehen (meine Lieblings Levis Hose könnt ihr hier sehen). Ganz selten trage ich auch mal gerne eine weisse Jeans Hose (hier). Vor kurzem habe ich mir auch meine aller erste Jeans Jacke (aber in weiss) gekauft direkt vor meinem Hawai’i Urlaub. Hey, es ist ein Anfang 😀 Ich glaube das letzte mal als ich einen Jeans Rock getragen habe war ich noch in der Schule, und das ist schon eine Zeit lang her. Als ich den Rock bei H&M gesehen habe, habe ich beschlossen, dass ich Jeans Röcken nochmal eine zweite Chance geben würde, und habe ihn mir dann gekauft. Ich liebe die Details an diesem Rock, vor allem die Knöpfe. Außerdem, momentan habe ich auch eine grosse Liebe für Bandeau Tops und Kleider. Früher habe ich die immer gehasst, aber ich habe endlich einen BH gefunden der für mich funktioniert mit dem Bandeau Trend. ENDLICH!!! Ich habe meinen bei Victoria’s secret gekauft (hier). Der BH von Intimissimi (hier) sieht auch ganz gut aus als ob der gut halten würde. Wenn du online bestellen wirst, würde ich dir raten eine Nummer kleiner also dein normaler T-Shirt BH zu bestellen, um sicher zu gehen das alles hält 😉

Ich bin total in diese süssen pink farbenen Schuhe verliebt. Wenn ihr mir auf Instagram folgt (hier), dann wisst ihr sicherlich schon, dass es nicht meine Schuhe sind. Sondern die Schuhe gehören meiner Freundin, und ich fand die so schön und habe sie gefragt ob ich sie mir fürs Foto ausleihen dürfte. Allerdings sind die Füsse meiner Freundin anderthalb Grössen kleiner als meine, also musste ich mich reinquetschen für ein paar Minütchen. Und natürlich musste es so aussehen, als ob sie perfekt passen würden! Aber haben wir nicht alle schon mal etwas verrücktes für ein Foto wenigstens einmal gemacht.

If you follow me on Instagram (here) you may know that last week was my Birthday and that my parents were visiting from Germany. My parents were staying for about 9 days including the travel days, and we did a few day trips to the city. Since the weather was not so great the week before my Birthday, I was super happy that the sun finally had decided to come out and we were able to go on the top of the Rockefeller Center, also referred to as “Top of the Rock”., and we were able to see NYC and it wasn’t covered with rainy clouds.I loved having my parents here, and am grateful that they were here for my Birthday since I haven’t celebrated my Birthday with them in 3 years and that was actually the last time I had seen them also!

Since it was actually quite hot on my Birthday (not complaining though :D), I decided to wear something more airy since it always gets extra hot in the city. These airy blush pink culottes from H&M are truly a dream. I already love pink as you may all know, but they also fit perfectly and it wasn’t too hot with them 🙂 And I love that they match my blush pink Michael Kors purse! Yay 🙂

When you’re visiting New York and you’re trying to decide whether to go on top of the Empire Building or on Top of the Rockefeller Center, I recommend to you to definitely go on top of the Rock. Simply because when you take pictures on top of the Rockefeller Center you’ll have the Empire State Building in your pictures, and I think that’s amazing and it’s one of the most iconic trademarks of New York City. I actually ordered my tickets online here. I love buying the tickets online and in advance, because sometimes the tickets are already sold out for the time that you’d want to go.

I also teamed up with TopView Sightseeing to share some discounted prices with you guys for Sightseeing Tours in New York! When I first arrived in New York City almost 8 years ago I actually took a Sightseeing Bus Tour (here) with TopView, and last year when my best friend from Germany was visiting I took a boat tour (here) down the Hudson River with the company also, and I absolutely loved the experiences! On my to do list is definitely riding a bike through Central Park that TopView also offers (here).

I love blush and neutral colors (I’m sure you’ve noticed that by now :D) but I also have a big weakness for bright and warm colors. When wearing mostly neutral colors I love adding a pop of color as an eye catcher. Orange is one of my favorite colors for Spring, Summer, and Fall. I’m absolutely in love with this Michael Kors purse! When I’m in the city I prefer to have a cross body bag or a backpack, and I love that this bag has regular handles, but also comes with a cross body strap. It’s a perfect purse for the city. Plus it fits a lot of things, and it’s not too heavy to walk around the city.

And btw this is my absolute favorite pair of jeans! I love the dark blue wash, and the fit is perfect. Lately I have been wearing mostly Levis Jeans, this one is the 710 super skinny. Since jeans shopping can be difficult, I like to buy 2 pairs of the dark blue wash, since I mostly wear this dark blue pair. I just love these Levis! Do you have a favorite pair of jeans? I absolutely love this fun polka dot skirt from H&M. I already love polka dots to begin with, but I’m also so in love with the shape of this skirt. It is so playful and fun and totally fits my personality. To give the look more color I combined it with a bright red blouse and tied a knot on the bottom corner on the side. I would love to hear your take on polka dots!

My dear friend and I started shooting this look and then I noticed the ice cream truck and I “ran” towards it. That is my absolute favorite ice cream and I had to get one. I get excited like a little kid over things that I love and am passionate about. And I have a sweet tooth, I love ice cream! What’s your favorite ice cream?
