My Morning Routine

The probiotic and squalene-infused cream hydrates the delicate skin around the eyes, helping to minimize the appearance of fine lines and dark circles. I LOVE this eye cream. As you may know, I work full time, study at Rutgers University part time and create content for my blog – this baby is my HOLY GRAIL when it comes to taking care of my dark circles and fine lines.

Clear it up, acne clearing tone correcting gel : After cleansing my skin and applying the eye cream, I use the targeted acne gel that helps to clear acne, prevent breakouts, and fade blemish marks. Absolutely love this one!

Dew your thing, oil-free gel cream : After applying the acne clearing tone correcting gel, I apply the lightweight oil-free gel cream moisturizer to maintain clear and balanced skin. I have very dry skin, but somehow some hydrating moisturizers cause my skin to break out. And this one does not, plus this moisturizer makes my skin feel so fresh!

Brighten up, smoothing primer gel : After my regular morning skincare routine, I use the yuzu-packed and silicone-free face priming gel, and it makes my skin look brighter and smoother. Thanks to the non-comedogenic formula it grips makeup without clogging pores. I love how soft my skin feels after using this primer!

Sometimes our hair wash schedule just doesn’t agree with our other schedules, I’m sure we have all experienced a situation like that in the past.

So the other day I had a dinner scheduled right after work and I always have some of my daily make up routine products in my bag so I am able to refresh it throughout the day. But what about my hair? Every morning I do my hair, it stays in shape until about midday, and then it just starts to loose shape through the rest of the day. Hello my loves, sorry for the lack of update the last week, but it has been a crazy week. I cannot wait to share more details with you soon, so stay tuned! 🙂

In the meantime let’s talk some summer hair trends. Having long hair takes a lot of patience and care, especially during the summer. I love wearing my hair down, but during this crazy heat I honestly prefer wearing my hair up. So I am always looking for some cute hair do’s as an alternative to wearing a bun, that won’t take me forever to create. It’s all about being creative and time efficient! Lately I’ve been obsessed with this dutch braid hair style, because it keeps my hair out of the way and it’s super trendy. Another reason why I love this hair style is, that you can wear the braids for a couple of days, and when you decide to take them out you’ll have beautiful beachy waves. Yay double score! I really love braids, and the dutch braid is a nice alternative to the french braid. When I was little my mom would always french braid my hair, because it’s a nice and easy way to keep the hair out of the way. And being the little whirlwind that I was when I was little, it was more than necessary. To be completely honest with you, I’m still trying to master the dutch braid since the braiding style is different from the french braid. But I’m optimistic that I’ll have it down in no time! 🙂

Now about my look: yup, pink is still my favorite color and this season I have been super obsessed with off-the-shoulder pieces (as I own a million by now) so I was super excited to add one in blush pink from H&M to my collection. Culottes have been my go-to all summer, because they are super comfortable. They are so versatile, you can wear them to work, to a BBQ, or to the beach. I especially like wearing them on the airplane because they are just so comfy!

Beach days are always fun, especially when the weather cooperates. With this heat wave upon us, we need to be extra careful and protect our skin from the sun.

Like I have mentioned to you before, I am always on the hunt for the best sun lotion. I do like summer, but I hate the sun lotion aspect of summer. Since my skin is so fair and I burn very easily, I always need to make sure I am 100% protected from the sun. Everyone, even if your skin isn’t as fair as mine, should wear sun lotion because the UV rays can cause cancer. I hate it when the sun lotion is super sticky or the lotion makes me look white as a ghost. With that being said, I’m always experimenting with different brands of sun lotion, because I have yet to find the perfect one that I’m 100% happy with. Obviously there is no such thing as 100% , but I’m looking for a sun lotion that checks most of my points off my checklist.

This time around I decided to give Sun Bum a try. Sun Bum is paraben free, oxybenzone free, hypoallergenic, cruelty free, vegan, gluten free, and is safe for the coral reefs, just to name a few benefits of this sun lotion. The lotion absorbs into the skin fairly quickly and it feels more like a regular lotion than a sticky sun lotion, which I love. Additionally it doesn’t make me look more pasty than I already am 😀 I also love that the sun lotion smells so good, and the sun lip balm comes in different flavors. I tried the Coconut one, it tasted like Pina Colada, so good! The most important part is, I reapplied the sun lotion every 2 hours, and I did not get burned 🙂

About the look – I am absolutely in love with this linen dress and the straw bag. These two are definitely my staples for this summer. I recently posted a straw bags shopping inspo guide (here) and linked some great affordable options all under $130. I got this straw bag at Target for only $34.99 which is an amazing find for these bags! They are a great companion to bring to the beach/the pool or to a BBQ.

Imagine being Ariel: how super cool and crazy would that be? Being able to comb your hair with a fork without having to justify yourself? Always having voluminous hair (ALWAYS even under water)? One of the best parts: Wearing a strapless seashell bikini, that always covers it all and NEVER seems to slip? Sounds magical! Well, that’s all it is: magic. Anywayy, let a girl dream. 😀

When it comes to make up, I usually like to keep it more natural especially during the day, but that doesn’t mean that I occasionally will rock a bold lipstick or smoky eye. I love natural and earthy eyeshadow colors the most. A few years ago I bought a beautiful eyeshadow palette at Sephora from Tarte Cosmetics from their ocean collection: it was called Rainforest of the Sea. I used that palette so much, that I ran out of my favorite colors quickly ( I hate when that happens ugh!). Anyway, ever since then I love Tarte Cosmetics. I love that Tarte Cosmetics is also animal cruelty free, vegan friendly, dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic, made without gluten and parabens, and the list goes on. So one day as I’m scrolling through my Instagram feed, I see that Tarte Cosmetics made an announcement of one of their new eyeshadow palettes: Be a Mermaid & Make Waves and I absolutely fell in love with the colors and the palette is shaped in form of a seashell. Stell dir vor Ariel zu sein: Wie super cool und verrückt wäre das bitte? Du kannst deine Haare mit einer Gabel kämmen, ohne dich rechtfertigen zu müssen? Du hättest immer voluminöse Haare (IMMER sogar unter Wasser)?! Das Beste ist: ein trägerloser Muschel-Bikini, der immer alles abdeckt und NIEMALS verrutscht? Klingt magisch! When thinking about summer our mind usually goes to beach, pool, ocean, and outdoor activities. At least most of the time right? Summer actually used to be my least favorite season, I call it sun lotion season. Now don’t get me wrong, when I go on vacation I usually like to go somewhere warm, but at least I’ll be able to jump into the ocean or pool to cool off. But we can’t do that everyday all day 🙂 The reason why summer used to be my least favorite season, is because my skin is so fair and I get sunburned very easily if I don’t protect myself well enough from the UV rays. I am always on a mission to find the best sunscreen – meaning it doesn’t have bad chemicals in it, doesn’t stain my white beach cover up yellow, doesn’t make me feel all greasy and sticky all day, and is waterproof. Protecting your skin from the strong UV rays is very important – it will help you to prevent early wrinkles and getting skin cancer. When I started to pack for my trip to Hawaii I noticed I needed new sunscreen to bring with me and I found Goddess Garden Organics at Target (it’s also available at Marshalls, TjMaxx and on their website). I did some research on it and decided to give it a try. It feels nice on your skin, it doesn’t feel too sticky or greasy at all, and it’s very moisturizing.

Goddess Garden Organics was founded by Nova Covington and Paul Halter, because their first daughter was allergic to certain chemicals used in traditional bath and cosmetic products. The pure minerals zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are the only active agents used for sun protection in the sunscreen. About my bathing suit, I really love one pieces! They don’t always leave the best tan lines, but which bathing suit really does?
